Tessa Pimontel studied fashion and costume design at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium. After graduating Tessa was an associate producer for the Paris fashion shows of Belgium's most famous designers: Dries Van Noten, Martin Margiela and Ann Demeulemeester.  At 22 she moved to New York to become Head Designer at TAHARI for five years.

In 2000, after the birth of her first child Eden, Tessa was recruited to redesign the BABY GAP Lux line. She continued to inspire the GAP for three years with her creative vision and consultations. She followed up the GAP success by creating an extremely popular kids clothing collection for TARGET based on the TV show and book LITTLE MISS SPIDER. Next Tessa designed an all encompassing men and women's line for the Caribbean lifestyle brand HIHO. She also produced a new line of accessories which helped grow the HIHO brand. She completed her vision for HIHO by redesigning the interior of all their stores.

In 2009 Tessa created Echo and Mercer, an interior design company. Work has been featured in VOGUE, ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST, COTTAGES AND GARDENS and LUX magazine.

She lives in New Canaan, Connecticut with her husband photographer/artist Hans Neleman and their children: Eden, Hudson, and Avalon.
